The death toll for Covid 19’s victims reach 100,000 on 5/27/20. The majority of them African American dying at a 2.1 deficit to Whites, Asians and Latinos. On 5/26/20, an African American, George Floyd was murdered by the Minneapolis Police in front of the World expressionless to all those witnessing the murder. February 23, 2020, Ahmaud Arbery was chased down and murdered by white vigilantes in Brunswick, Georgia. Brianna Taylor murdered in her apartment by law enforcement serving a warrant at the wrong house. The deaths of African Americans both male and female has escalated in the last 20 years. I’ve written about Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown, Tamir Rice, Eric Garner, and other African Americans killed under questionable circumstances by law enforcement. These incidents have happened far to many times. I don’t know about how you view things but, this looks definitely like a systematic attack against black and brown lives.
Before I go too far, let me make it clear I don’t think all European Whites are in agreement with the system. In fact, I think the majority are not. However, there’s clearly a larger potion of European Americans who want to strengthen the system. History documents evidence of White peoples contributions to the principles of equality for all. I applaud you.
I say to all my African American bothers and sisters its your life and you must be responsible for it. Throughout history, we have been faced with surviving the worst of times. We’ve survived living in the land of plenty starting from zero. 400 years of oppressive BS. Systemic Racism has without a doubt hindered our progress but by no means did it stop our progress. The democracy throughout history has been very slow in delivering rights granted in the Constitution to all of its citizens. We have entered a period in time where our survival will face its greatest test. Facing the White Nationalist virus in the White House and Covid 19, will be our greatest survival challenge today.
Covid 19 is an enemy to all, however, it has more of a negative impact to African Americans, therefore we should protect ourselves by any means necessary. Wear a mask and gloves, continue to wash your hands often, adhere to the 6 ft distance recommendation in and around others. Tell and promote these practices to your families and friends. Be patient with this virus move cautiously back into society. However, be highly vigilant and prepared to protect yourselves from the systematic attack on our lives. “Strength to the People”
