Biden is who he says he is “A Politician

Joe Biden is who he says he is, a politician and has been since he served as New Castle County for the 4th district Representative.  He served in the Senate until he was selected by Barack Obama in 2008 to be his Vice President.  His political history spans 50 years. In an interview with Charlamagne The God this yesterday morning he stated, “Well I tell you what, if you have a problem figuring out whether you’re for me or Trump, then you ain’t black”.  His mistake was being a white man telling a black man he wasn’t black if he was still trying to figure out which person would be the obvious choice for black people between himself and 45.

Biden was comfortable making that statement because for the last 50 years. He’s been a democrat and democrats have had the African American vote since Roosevelt.  Just like other voting blocks, they vote for the party they think will have their backs.  However, it  was always pitted that voting for a particular party was an expression of ones ideology, but its always been about power and  money.  Since I started voting, I have always viewed voting for President as voting for the lesser of two evils until Barack Obama.  African Americans have gotten less than any other group for their political support primarily for Democrats, glaringly less.  Republicans claim to have accumulated 3 to 4 precent of the  African American vote in 2016.  How white would a white person have to be to figure out he was the obvious choice between himself and Trump?   It was very appropriate for him to have apologized.

Biden didn’t realize he was talking to a Black modern day activist.  Charlamagne, Kyla Reed, Collin Kaepernick and many others have taken advantage of the advances in technology to draw large blocks of supporters to their causes.  They are the Bobby Seals, Stokely Carmichael’s, H. Rap Brown’s and many others of today with a different set of tools in the continued struggle.  Al Sharpton is a rare activist in that he has the most visible longevity as an activist.

Chalamagnes reply to Biden was, “it has nothing to do with Trump”, but that rather “I want something for my community.”  Biden was not prepared to handle such directness and got a bit cocky which is not uncommon for politicians to do when placed in uncomfortable situations.   Black political power will test the Democratic Party to the limits to walk the walk to back up the talk in 2020.  Let me be clear, Black people will show up to the polls in November in record numbers to vote for Joe Biden.  If there was ever a time the Democratic party needed the African American’s vote it’s 2020.   We’ve never seen evil the likes of 45 in the White House.   It’s crystal clear who is the lesser of two evils between Biden and White Nationalist.  I wouldn’t make to much of Biden’s getting his foot caught in his mouth, Biden is who he says he is a politician.  He’s not perfect by any means however, 45 is perfectly deficient as being President for all of the American people.

  1. I agree. Biden placed his foot squarely in his mouth. He has some old baggage. However, he is a far superior candidate for Black folks, other marginalized people and democratic institutions – even many trump supporters. Biden does need a woman VP nominee that we can rally behind and vote for in record numbers. Ee cannot afford to sit out the election for president nor state and local contests.

  2. He thought he was going to outwit Charlamagne. But put his foot in his mouth instead.
