The Verdict
The verdict finally came down
Under the cover of darkness in stressed out Ferguson town
After over 100 days of civil protest and illegal actions by some
The prosecutor read his bias statement that went off like a gun
The Grand Jury three months later found no probable cause to indict Officer Wilson
A short time later the city of Ferguson erupted into violence perpetuated by the system
Police and National Guardsmen protected the courthouse and white community
The protester were shocked angry and saddened… the criminals ran rampant with no impunity
Let’s pause for a moment and look back at the legal process from the beginning
Remove the Prosecutor was the people’s cry… if not there’s no chance of Justice winning
His record of supporting the police and never the people was their objective evidence
Request to the Governor for removal were not adhered to making matters much more intense
The Prosecutor went forward with the case clearly acting as a defense attorney
To the extent allowing Officer Wilson to speak to the jury telling his own story
He further stated the eyewitnesses were not credible and the scientific evidence did not support their statements
Yet Officer Wilson’s testified after the scientific evidence was provided telling his story without abatement
It’s not difficult to see the wheels of Justice did not turn equally in this system
The accused received obvious preferential favors being presented as the victim
His statement to the jury that after several shots had hit Mike Brown
He puffed up looking like demon move toward him and he resumed shooting until he fell to the ground
No evidence at the crime scene was documented of the distance of the victim from the one who kill
Fear for his life was his defense against an unarmed wounded human being… a threat let’s get real
Mike Brown’s body and Wilson’s position would have been key in the crime scene measurements
Officer Wilson and the system were the only beneficiaries of the absence of this evidence
Reaction to the verdict in Ferguson spread throughout the world
Peaceful civil protest from people of all races united… what a beautiful site to behold
Support for Officer Wilson also spread throughout the land
White people only from the public, police organizations and the Ku Klux Klan
Mike Brown was not perfect by any means he’d just committed a crime robbing and threatening an employee
The evidence was presented for the entire world to see
The reaction to his death was not to justify what he did or that he was without flaws
However, for the justice system to indict those who kill when clearly there is evidence of probable cause
There is talk about healing and moving forward toward a better place
That will never happen until there is an admission we have a problem with race
If there is to be any good to come from Mike Brown being killed
It may force us to the table to discuss racism even though it maybe against our will
What and who can solve this problem we have with race… only the racist him or herself can remedy the problem…racism is a personal problem stemming from one’s feelings of superiority over another…until we as individual realize we are all the same the only difference is our color just the way God made us…Let this Verdict be the catalyst to change…if we do not change we are certain to self destruct….
