Trump and the media play the KKK Card – 02/29/2016

Trump’s reply to CNN reporter Jake Tapper on 02/29/2016 when questioned whether he would disavow David Duke and other white supremacist groups that are supporting him. “Just so you understand, I don’t know anything about David Duke, OK?” He continued, “I don’t know anything what you’re even talking about with white supremacy or white supremacists.” “So I don’t know, I don’t know–did he endorse me, or what’s going on? Because I know nothing about David Duke, I know nothing about white supremacist.”
All major news sources within 24 hrs., reported that Mr. Trump blamed a faulty ear piece for his responses to Mr. Tapper’s questions. At no time during the interview, did Trump note that he was having any difficulty understanding the questions proposed to him. He further suggested, a list be provided of supremacist groups so he could may a determination whether to except their support or disavow them. On Friday two days later, he disavowed the support of David Duke.
Let me be brutally honest, this is a critical issue, which present a fundamental flaw within the governmental process in the United States of America. The ability to deceive is designed into the process. On the popular Morning Joe show 02/29/2016; Joe Scarborough stated that if Donald J. Trump didn’t roll back his comments by the end of the day it would cost the Republican’s the White House in 2016. The acceptance by the media and the political establishment using the freedom of speech clause covered in the first amendment of the Constitutions does three critical things: (1.) Allows the injection of deception (2.), Removes accountability for multiple statements having opposite meanings (3.) Diminishes the importance of truth within the political process. Simply said, lying is an acceptable practice within America’s political process. A politician can overtly lie and absolve themselves of the lie immediately or some time later and still be deemed to be honest and creditable. This contradiction exists at all levels of government from city hall to state houses all the way to the White House.
Donald Trump the Republican’s leading candidate for President lied about not knowing David Duke or the White Supremacist group known as the KKK. In an article written by the First Draft on September 22nd by reporter Jason Horowitz, Trump denied reports in the New York Times written by the website Boing Boing, listing Trumps father Fred C. Trump as one of a number of individuals arrested after a KKK rally had turned violent in 1927. First denying any truth to the matter and later stating his father was not charged and therefore the incident shouldn’t be mentioned.
The KKK flourished in the 1860’s in response to the country entertaining the idea of abolishing slavery and again in the 20’s advocating against immigrants coming to America. Their racist heads again arose in the 50’s tormenting Catholics and Jews. Since their inception, they adopted terrorist tactics such as: threats, destruction of property, beatings, and murder, while displaying Neo Nazi insignias, burning crosses while dressed in hooded white robes. The extents to their terrorist activities are to many to number and often times shielded by local law enforcement. The Southern Poverty Law Center and the Anti-Defamation League consider them a terrorist organization today.
Donald Trump has stated if he were President he would eliminate the terrorist group ISIS and to quote his canned statement “I will be so great on terrorism”. His deceptive position on the KKK leaves one to wonder if he would be great on just terrorist wearing black hoods (ISIS) and not those wearing white hoods (KKK). The fact that Trump’s supporters number approximately 35 percent of the Republican party would indicate they are not interested in the truth rather just a process to express their venomous message of hate, arrogance and ignorance.
How many times in your private or public conversations regarding politics have you heard this statement, “all politicians lie”? I would suggest to you excepting the theory if lies are continually repeated without opposition and truth is expected to evolve this is deemed to be the definition of insanity. This fact being a truism, I can only conclude the American people are insane.

  1. Thanks for educating so many of us on Trumps background. People say trump is not responsible for his heritage. However we all know that racism is like a seed planted and then watered and fed until it grows into a monster

  2. This one is right down my alley “racism.” Apparently, it right down Warren’s alley also. I Just have to take it a little further. America is built on lies and deception. This is my country and I love it but the truth is the truth whether you are ignorant of it or not. This is the age of information and when it come to the truth. America is devoid of it and the truth can’t be found. It is a contest of deception when it come to politics or just about anything in america, especially Race. In fact, just about two week ago I found out that the Trinity Church pronounced that they took part in the “Slave trade.” They didn’t buy them but they leased them. Like leasing a car and they(slave) built the Trinity Church right downtown Manhattan, New York along with building much of Wall Street. So, Warren is right, we are not dealing with just individuals but an entire system. So, if you are not a part of the solution then you are a part of the problem by default.
    Much Love,
    Rayford

    1. I believe the deception is occurring because we have left our basic foundation of truth, which is the Bible. Once we accepted the lie that the Constitution mandated separation of church and state we were doomed. The Constitution only mandates Congress not to establish a national religion. Separation of church and state didn’t enter mainstream law until the ACLU introduced it into a 1948 case. The importance is that we find absolute truth in only Christianity, Judaism and Islam because only in them is there an infinite-personal God. Without an absolute truth standard we have no way to determine any truth because truth is in the eye of the beholder. Trump can say one thing today and disavow it tomorrow. In Christianity it’s called a lie. In politics it’s called a spin. When it’s called a lie, it stains your character. When it’s called spin it makes you look crafty.

Yes, racists used the Bible to try to justify discrimination but over time truth was winning. Racism does die hard but Truth triumphs eventually. But now because Truth has been eliminated from public discourse, we have only the goodwill of humans to guide us. Good luck with that. Since we’re all sinners, the best of us can rationalize anything given enough motivation.

Further, the Judeo-Christian religion, and New Testament teachings in particular, is the only one that builds freedom into its foundation. “You shal know the Truth (Jesus) and the Truth shal make you free.” Jesus died for us while we still hated Him (Romans 5:8) and He keeps us saved even as we continue to sin (John 10:27-31), therefore, we are truly free to serve Him because we love Him.

America has lost its way. Donald Trump is simply a symptom of its lostness. Warren, you are absolutely correct that one sign of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. If we think that this lying, conniving bigot is going to change if he’s elected president, then we are certified insane. However, the same can be said of Hilary. Let’s be honest. She can’t be trusted either. If they’re my only choice, I think I’ll vote for Warren. At least I can trust he’ll do exactly what he says.
